I’m always writing about special experiences on the stage.
Well, theater is my life, so it’s obvious I will write about plays I’m doing, but it has been a long while since I wrote, and now I felt a need to write it down.
A long rehearsal process has come to its end when going on the stage with play:
'HISTORY OF NOW’ happened eventually, and since it’s a play about the holocaust, it was an extremely emotional play and process too.
The play deals with real stories of Holocaust survivors through an immersive journey.
There’s the present day in one part of the stage , as the survivor speaks, and her flashbacks from the war in the other side of the stage.
I played her mother, and all scenes were very emotional.
I felt it was like my mission to spread this story to the world, both as a Jewish and an actress, so it was more that a regular play to me.
It made its DEBUTS IN NYC's SOHO PLAYHOUSE, and I truly hope it will run in the future.
מחזה מרגש
לרוב כשאני כותבת אני כותבת על חוויות מהבמה. וזה די מובן, התאטרון הוא העולם שלי. אבל לאחרונה לא כתבתי כל כך, וכעת הגיעה ההצגה שגרמה לי לכתוב.
תהליך חזרות ארוך ומתמשך הגיע לסיומו כשעלתה סופסוף ההצגה “History of Now”.
ההצגה ותהליך העבודה היו מרגשים במיוחד עבורי כי ההצגה עוסקת בשואה.
ההצגה מתארת מסע מרגש של ניצולת שואה דרך סיפוריה המוצגים כפלאשבקים מעברה. אני שיחקתי אתהאמא שלה, וכל הסצנות היו רגשיות מאוד עבורי. גם כשחקנית וגם כיהודייה בקאסט אמריקאי לחלוטין, הרגשתי שליחות מיוחדת בהצגה הזו, ושעלי להעביר את הספור הזה לעולם. הצגת טרום הבכורה נערכה בתאטרון הסוהו פלייהאוס בניו יורק, וכעת רק מקווה שנריץ אותה בעתיד.
