Today I visited the Salon de chocolate. The great chocolate Show from Paris came to New York. A fair a show or a festival, whatever you call it.
This is a special occasion for chocolate lovers like me. A large hangar with hundreds of stalls and thousands of people turn around and taste chocolate. Crowded but delicious.
And the Americans are tolerant in silence standing in queues which is a bit different from the Israelis. A lot of stalls have focused on the natural process of making chocolate bean to bar,
From cocoa beans to the highest percentage of cocoa tablets. I must say, the more bitter the chocolate is, the more sour it was, so
I had a feeling that milk stalls were missing. Though Special chocolates with various flavors like caramel and Chili were nice new additions... So anyway , I enjoyed my time there like a kid, because I am a kid in all that concerns chocolate.
The exhibition also had workshops and demonstrations and chocolate sculpting and even a fashion show of chocolate clothing. So the New York chocolate Show is recommended for chocolate enthusiasts indeed.
סלון השוקולד בניו יורק
היום ביקרתי בסלון דה שוקולד. תערוכת השוקולד הגדולה מפריז הגיעה גם לניו יורק. תערוכה, יריד או פסטיבל, איך שלא תקראו לזה,מדובר בארוע מיוחד לאוהבי שוקולד כמוני. האנגר גדול ובו מאות דוכנים ואלפי אנשים מסתובבים וטועמים שוקולד. צפוף אבל טעים. והאמריקאים סובלניים, עומדים בשקט בתורים, קצת שונה מהישראלים. הרבה דוכנים התמקדו בתהליך הטבעי להכנת השוקולד bean to bar מפולי הקקאו ועד לטבלאות הקקאו באחוזים הגבוהים היותר. אני חייבת לציין שככל שהשוקולד מריר יותר הוא גם יותר חמוץ, וקצת היו חסרים לי דוכנים של שוקולד חלב בלבד.
היו המון שוקולדים מיוחדים עם טעמים שונים, כמו קרמל מלוח, צ׳ילי ותוספות משונות... כך שקצת חסרו טעמים חלביים רגילים, לטעמי.
בכל מקרה נהנתי בפסטיבל הזה כמו ילדה...אפילו שיש לי טעם של ילדה בשוקולד...
היו גם סדנאות והדגמות של קונדיטורים , פיסול בשוקולד ואף תצוגת אופנה של בגדים משוקולד.
אז תערוכת השוקולד בניו יורק בהחלט מומלצת לחובבי שוקולד מושבעים.
